Seminar on “Pharmaceutical Industry: A Comprehensive Overview” Successfully Held

The Department of Pharmacy at Varendra University is delighted to announce the successful completion of a highly informative seminar titled “Pharmaceutical Industry: A Comprehensive Overview.” The event brought together key university officials, faculty, students, and industry experts to bridge the gap between academic learning and industrial insight.

The seminar was graced by the presence of Prof. Dr. Md. Faizar Rahman (Treasurer), Mr. Suranjit Mondal (Registrar), Professor Dr. Md. Bytul Mokaddesur Rahman (Head of the Department), esteemed faculty members, lab executives, and an enthusiastic group of students.

The program began with a harmonious and respectful recitation from the Holy Quran and the Bhagavad Gita, symbolizing unity and inclusiveness.

Following the opening, Associate Professor Dr. Tripti Rani Paul, along with the Treasurer and Registrar, delivered motivating speeches, encouraging students to deepen their practical knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry and reinforcing the importance of aligning theoretical education with real-world applications.

The highlight of the event was the keynote speech by Md. Shahidul Islam, General Manager and Head of Plant Operations at General Pharmaceuticals Ltd. In his compelling session, he shared insights on critical industry topics, including:

  • Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)

  • Pharmaceutical Facility Design

  • Quality Assurance (QA)

  • Production Processes

  • Career Planning in the Pharmaceutical Sector

His comprehensive overview of the industry's operations provided students with valuable direction for future career planning.

In the concluding session, Professor Dr. Md. Bytul Mokaddesur Rahman extended heartfelt gratitude to General Pharmaceuticals Ltd. and proposed a formal Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to facilitate in-plant training, industrial visits, and job placement opportunities for students.

Special recognition was also given to the Pharma-Bee Club for their proactive involvement and organizational support throughout the event.

The seminar concluded on a hopeful note, with aspirations for more such collaborative initiatives aimed at enriching academic and professional journeys for pharmacy students.
